"I had to chuckle as year by year, Gene poked fun at Yankee failures while glossing over their successes. What I really enjoyed, though, was his recaps of legendary seasons in the 50s and 6os. Gene is a knowledgeable baseball fan with an incredible memory for details, and I found myself sucked in to the narrative. He is a good story teller with a love of his subject, and his book is a really fun read.

Both Gene and his book are a little unconventional, but if you give him a chance you're sure to be entertained."

BANNED in the BRONX

With the Yankees coming to town it seems like a good opportunity to tell you about a new book that I was sent.

It’s called BANNED in the BRONX by Gene Hutmaker.

It’s the memoirs of a Yankee Hater from 1953 to 2005. It follows his baseball watching experiences in relation to the Bronx Bombers for the 53 season time period.

It’s a good read and not just filled with petty reason to hate the Yankees.

It spins a tale of good baseball memories told through the eyes of a fan who watched them happen live. And the reasons it gives for hating the Yankees are reasonable and anything but petty!
